September breaks the news

Dear friends, fans, enemies and passing smiles,

After a lovely and surprisingly creative Summer, here comes September and its stunning falling leaves perfumes.

It’s time to introduce you the cute Doraemon Shop, from my friend Đức, where the blue cat will help you to find discounted clothes and more various items in a near future.

Musically speaking, the new album is still into an exciting recording process. You really can’t wait? Jump on Diagonale Music’s new release: A man or someone (?) & Immensinarium Rooftop tape's band (the album). You have the open-minded ears to enjoy.

Also, have you read the new reviews on the Awaken MP3 Discography? Some like, some hate, you’ll be judges.

Important: there’s a new contact address for yours truly the old Cat in our appropriate section;

And let’s not forget some deep or not deep thoughts on my humble blog.

So, are you prepared for the most surprising to come? If yes, see you soon. If no, you wouldn’t been here reading.

Nottingigauram

Becky is a British student from Nottingham, hungry for new discoveries. Not only she studies
Popular Music with Music Technology at the University of Derby, but also she's a vocalist, pianist and bassist, learning guitar. Moreover, she writes reviews on her blog. And guess what EP has recently been analysed by her music-lover ears? You name it: Yanagigaura.
Please read her opinion here, while visiting more of her blog: http://beckiemusicblog.tumblr.com/

9 more songs, 9 more lives?

Dear magnetic friends, enemies and passing smiles,

Lazy days for you, lazy days for Awaken. Really? I don’t know much about your secret life, but there’s nothing short of creative in the Awa-Universe this very time.

The new Snowcat album is still planned for 2012 and will be the first LP since… a long time, 2008’s “This Mouth” being still labeled as EP, clocking just 28 minutes –bonus track included.

The 9 songs all have their demo version, which hardly happened in the past, and a bunch of the baddest musicians are already part of the project. Some you know, some you will discover.

There is again a strong collaboration with It’s Oh! Music, the indies label from Miyakonojô-city in Japan. By the way, they just signed our friends the Narcotic Daffodils, that you know for having enjoyed Irène et Hakim singing and playing on Awaken’s “How Many ‘L’ Were In Your Name?”.

The 9 new songs are now listed in our Awalphabet. Will you be smart enough to find them?

Have a great month of July.

Old bandits never die.

Old bandits never die. Toto, an early influence of Awaken, rocked Brussels on June 21st, 2011. Joe Williams and Steve Porcaro being back, you got the band almost as it was in 1988.

A pure delight. Guess what? They played a superb version of “Human Nature”, Michael Jackson’s track composed by Steve Porcaro. A moment of pure magic.

What to listen in those hot spring days...

While the Old Cat is happily recording his new LP -a killer en devenir-, Awaken's collaborators and / or (nevertheless) friends fill the gap by being rather prolific these days:

Franck Carducci: Oddity

Irène & Hakim in The Narcotic Daffodils's first album

Trust No One: Hazard

You can enjoy discovering a bunch different kinds of music as easily as clicking on the links.

Haraa remixes Awaken

Dear friends, enemies and passing smiles,

a few weeks ago, I had the pleasant surprise to receive a remix from one of my pieces of music, "Chase Around Ôita Eki", by a lad called Haraa. Actually, it was more than just a remix, since the original tapes having been destroyed, no one can just remix them without a serious instrumental input from them.
We then decided to do another one so we could release it as a bootleg single. We recorded a cosmic take of another of my favorite, "Beppu Nights".

I had the opportunity to listen to Haraa's own music and will inform you when it is released, since it's worth giving it a listen. Haraa is someone who dares, which is kinda missing these days. He has the Spirit, to say the least.

Ah by the way, you never know if by clicking on the image or just here, the bootleg will be yours.

Take care,
G.S.
